Post 8: English Language Challenges

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about English language challenges. Well, about my experience learning English at university, I have to say that it has been good, mainly because we were able to practice a lot, it was much more dynamic and educative. For example, with blogs, I could develop better my writing skills and vocabulary. I never really thought it would help me learn so much, in fact, the first time I had to write a blog, I thought I wouldn't be able to write a paragraph, but now I'm so glad because I can write more than I had thought. But obviously, I need to improve aspects of my English, such as speaking, because it takes me a while to think of what to say when I'm in a conversation, and that makes for less fluidity in the dialogue. Another aspect that I need to improve is grammar because I think it's a factor that influences my lack of fluency in conversations. At this time, I haven't thought about how I'm going to improve my...

Post 7: Changes to my Study Programme

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about changes to my study programme. First of all, I have to say that I study Theory and History of Art, and I really like my study programme. I like the curriculum and the teaching methods. But if I had to make changes to my study programme, the first one that comes to my mind is to include  practical subjects in my career because, in my opinion, it would be very nourishing for our formation. For example, if we learned a few art techniques such as drawing, sculpture, or painting, we would have a much better understanding of the procedures, the artistic disciplines, and the position of the artist, and, in that way, we could make a much more complete analysis about artworks.      Apart from that, I would include a new teaching method, like practical teaching, because I think that studying with physical artworks would be good, specifically to study topics like conservation, collections, and even the curatorship...

Post 6: Time travel to the Future

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about traveling to the future. I have to confess that I had only thought about traveling to the past but never about traveling to the future, mainly because I believe it will be a terrible place to live. But, I had to choose a time to travel I would choose one where I'm not alive because I don't want to know about my future, if I will be happy or if I died tragically, because then when I come back to the present I will do everything possible to reverse my terrible future, so I would prefer to travel to a distant future. The time I would like to travel is about the year 2400. I think by that year, there will already be tourist trips to Space;  I would love to travel to Space because I could  see the moon more closely, and I could even be on it.  And I also hope that 2400 human beings will have settled on other planets because I would love to see and travel around them. And about whether I would like to stay there, ...

Post 5: My Future Job

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about the job I would like to have. Well, I would like to have a job related to the major that I study: Theory and History of Art, but I don't know yet which area I would like to work in specifically because I would like to work in different ones, such as education or restoration and conservation, and both would be indoors. I have to say that when I imagine myself inside a museum or classroom, I feel butterflies in my stomach hahaha. I think that I would be very happy working in either of those two areas. About the travel, I would like to travel a lot in my job because I would learn much about art masterpieces, and even I would do a specialty outside the country. I think this is very important for developing a working career in the education area and the area of restoration and conservation. But despite that, I would like much more to stay in Chile specifically, in my hometown, promoting the culture and the arts through edu...

Post 4: My Bucket List

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about my bucket list. Speak about this is a little difficult for me because I've to confess that I've never made a bucket list indeed, I've never thought much about it, although many times I've been recommended to do it. Anyway, I think that it's a great way to have clarity about my goals so I can make them happen, so I just thought of one. Well, on my bucket list, I would include activities about my personal development like learning sewing,  ceramics, and other languages; be more an understanding person, and get out of my comfort zone. Apart from that, I would like to travel around the world, appreciate nature, have my vegetable garden and complete my familiar tree with my ancestors. I would love to travel around the world with my loved ones, but I think this activity is a bit more difficult to achieve, because I've to have time and money, and besides that, I've to speak more languages apart from my...

Post 3: My Favorite Movie

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about my favorite movie  Tres Tristes Tigres  (1968) by Chilean director Raúl Ruiz, based on Alejandro Sieveking's theatre play of the same name. I remember the first time that I watched this movie: I was impressed, left me confused and makes me feel uncertain because its narrative strategies are entirely different  from the cinema that I was used to seeing; for example, this movie has no central conflict because the characters are guided by events, not by their actions, like Nicanor Parra's poem Un Hombre, and I found that very interesting. But I must recognize that it's my favorite movie over others because I have a special affection for it. This movie was the first one that I watched at a film festival, after that I was delighted with Ruiz's cinema, and the cinema in general, because before this I didn't see much of cinema.  I usually like to watch drama and suspense movies, but I also watch horror an...

Post 2: The best holidays

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Today I'll write about my best holiday. First I have to say that maybe this holiday is not the best, and not the most amazing either but I remember them with a lot of affection because it was a travel that we won with my high school classmates. The trip that we won was to Torres del Paine, and as we were in Punta Arenas, we were close to our destination. This holiday was at the end of 2015, and it lasted 4 or 5 days (I don't remember exactly). In those days, with my classmates, we hiked and saw beautiful landscapes such as glacier Grey, lake Pehue, and Salto Grande. We were also able to see incredible wildlife such as huemul, condors, guanacos, and foxes. And apart from that, we saw rock art, and also we visited the Milodon cave. It was a modest holiday, but we enjoyed it so much because we had never traveled together before. We always remember the anecdotes that happened to us, as one of our partners who needed hospitalization, but above all...
